You’d be forgiven for thinking these images have been photoshopped. We can assure you they haven’t, and the adults-only Aitutaki Lagoon is this blue in real life.
Aitutaki Lagoon: The Cook Islands Exclusive Overwater Bungalows
Adults-only luxury in the Pacific
Each of the Aitutaki Lagoon’s bungalows has taken on a distinctly tropical style and is home to a super king size bed (yep, that’s larger than a king), WiFi and satellite TV. Open air showers are tucked into a private walled garden, while the cotton-waffle bathrobes and personalised minibars are a refreshing touch.
Resort restaurant, Flying Boat Beach Bar and Grill was named after the likes of Marlon Brando, John Wayne and Cary Grant. All of these celebs are said to have visited the island by flying boat. Next door, the Bounty Brasserie dishes up one of the best tropical breakfast buffets we’ve seen.
Complimentary activities on offer include stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling and kayak tours. Picnic hampers from Bounty Brasserie are best enjoyed on one of the many nearby deserted islands. These are easily accessible by kayak. The resort won’t stay a secret for much longer – get there before your mates do.
