trivago is on the hunt to find the best snaps of your favourite hotel for a chance to win $500!

What’s yours? To enter the competition, simply share a pic of your fave hotel with the hashtag #trivagofaves on Instagram.

The most inspiring and original picture will be selected by travelgrammer Polkadot Passport and will be featured on this blog.

Terms & Conditions

The following terms are applicable for the “#trivagofaves” (the “Competition”), organised by trivago GmbH, Bennigsen-Platz 1, Germany. The Competition is promoted (via paid and unpaid posts) on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook and Instagram do not sponsor, endorse, or administer this Competition.

To enter the Competition, participants must agree to the Terms & Conditions, Competition Rules and all decisions made by trivago. Any recourse to a Courts of Law is excluded. The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany shall exclusively apply.

Eligibility

To enter the Competition, entrants must be a resident of Australia or New Zealand. Entrants are required to have a valid Instagram account in order to submit an entry to the Competition. The entrant’s Instagram account post is required to be on a public setting so that trivago can see the post and it appears in the corresponding hashtag page.

Employees of trivago and the sponsored influencer (i.e. judge, spokesperson) of the Competition, including their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter.

Rules of Entry

The Competition duration lasts for 23 days. It commences at 12:00am on 22 April 2017 AEST and closes at 12:00am on 15 May 2017 AEST (the “Competition Period”). Any submissions before or after the Competition Period will not be considered.

Participants must follow the ‘How to Enter’ instructions (below) and accept the Terms & Conditions in order to successfully enter the Competition.

HOW TO ENTER

1. Select a photograph of your favourite hotel or accommodation. The photograph must be the property of the participant or the participant must have third-party rights to use the photograph.

2. Upload the photo to Instagram. Tag the name of the competition “#trivagofaves” before posting. (Make sure your account/post is public).

3. Post away! You’ve entered the Competition.

4. The participant may also reshare/regram a previous post, so long as the tag is incorporated.

The image entered by the participant must be of a hotel or accommodation listed on the trivago website or the participant’s entry will not be eligible. There are no restrictions on the number of times a participant can enter the competition.

Any attempt to influence the results of the Competition, through software, scripts or any other form of manipulation that creates an unfair advantage, is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification. trivago retains the right to disqualify participants from the Competition in the event of manipulation, violation of the Terms & Conditions and Competition Rules, and for invalid or incomplete registration.

Photographs that contain prohibited or inappropriate content, or that are otherwise in breach of these Terms and Conditions, as determined by trivago in its absolute discretion, will be deemed invalid. trivago reserves the right to remove any photographs from its official Instagram account at any time for any reason.

Judging

The judging process will be conducted as follows.

1. Selection will be undertaken by trivago and an influencer sponsored by trivago, Polkadot Passport.

2. Trivago will firstly select ten of the best entries. These entries will have the opportunity to be featured on the trivago room5 blog (see below).

3. From the ten best entries, the sponsored influencer will select one winner who will receive a prize (see below).

The Competition is a game of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the winner. Each valid entry will be assessed for creative merit, photographic quality and entertainment value of the Instagram post.

The Prize

The winner will receive the following prize:

• $500 AUD.

Announcement

trivago will inform the winner by 22 May 2017 by contacting them via their Facebook and/or Instagram account on how to claim their prize. The winner will also be announced publicly on the official trivago Facebook and/or Instagram page. Any other mode of communication regarding the winners of the “#trivagofaves” Competition is not official or valid.

The winner must claim the prize within 15 days. If the winner cannot be contacted and does not claim the prize within 15 days, the winner then forfeits the prize. In the event that the winner is disqualified for any reason, the sponsored influencer will award an alternate winner on behalf of trivago.

Blog Post – room5

The ten best entries selected by trivago will be featured in a blog post written by the trivago Blog: room5 (//room5.trivago.com.au/). The participants of the ten best entries will be informed by trivago via their Instagram or Facebook account.

Privacy Policy

trivago observes the applicable regulations on the security of processing and use of personal data in accordance with the German BDSG and the TMG.
By participating, entrants agree to allow trivago to publish entrants’ Facebook and/or Instagram account names, reshare/regram posts and the entry photographs on trivago’s official Facebook page, official Instagram page or on its blog, room5.

The winner will be required to inform trivago of their personal information – first name, last name, email address and payment details – in order to successfully obtain the prize. Should an entrant’s contact details change during the Competition Period, it is the entrant’s responsibility to notify trivago.

Participants are entitled to withdraw their consent of the use of their personal data at any time. They must do so by sending an email to Samantha.Hendricks@trivago.com.

General Terms and Conditions

trivago retains the right to stop or end the Competition at any time without prior notification. Reasons for ending the Competition could include, but are not limited to, unforeseen technical malfunctions, (e.g. virus attacking the computer system, manipulation or errors in hard- and or software), or any instance in which trivago is not able to correctly/accurately conduct the Competition.

Liability of trivago or its agents/assistants in performance – regardless of legal grounds – only applies if the damage is caused by a culpable breach of fundamental contract obligations or in case of intent or gross negligence. To the extent the breach of contract is unintentional, our liability for damages shall be limited to the typically predictable damage. Our liability for culpable damage to life, body or health as well as our liability under the Product Liability Act shall remain unaffected.
