Perth is on a cultural high and with good reason. As beautiful heritage buildings are being lovingly restored to stand alongside new builds, there are new art galleries, restaurants and trendy hotels popping up across the city.
Some establishments have combined all these things, and the InterContinental Perth City Centre hotel is one of them. Recently opened at the end of 2017, the InterContinental Perth City Centre is a new, luxury hotel with Western Australian art and culture at the heart of its design.
Featuring Western Australian detailing with an understated colour palette of golden earth tones, the hotel has embraced the region and proudly showcases WA. Over 300 pieces of art are on display throughout the hotel, all handcrafted by WA artists.
Renowned local artists were specially commissioned to create thirteen large bespoke pieces of artwork for the hotel. On entering InterContinental Perth City Centre, you can’t help but notice the huge glass sculpture hanging above the lobby. Seventy-six hand-blown glass leaves of different colours and textures hang delicately overhead, depicting the natural beauty of the West Australian landscape.
It’s not only the inside that’s a work of art. Located amidst the King Street Precinct in Perth’s classy West End, the InterContinental is in “the heritage heart of Perth”, where restored 20th Century buildings now house international designer boutiques.
Stroll down King Street and marvel at the charming architecture and hidden laneways surrounding the hotel. Meanwhile, just around the corner is His Majesty’s Theatre, home to the WA Opera and WA Ballet, so you can step right up to the city’s cultural events.
Rooms and Suites at InterContinental Perth City Centre have also been carefully designed, with soft tones and luxury amenities, creating a quiet space to retreat in the heart of Perth. All rooms offer a view of the city, round from Perth city centre down to vibrant Hay Street or King Street.View hotel on trivago
If you are looking for true indulgence, choose one of the Club rooms or studios which offer exclusive benefits of Club InterContinental. With access to the Club Lounge on the 16th floor, guests can enjoy complimentary gourmet breakfast, all day refreshments and evening canapes and drinks whilst overlooking the Perth cityscape.
The InterContinental Perth City Centre hotel has added four new bars and restaurants to the King Street food scene, and the focus is very much on fresh, local, seasonal WA produce. For a casual evening with good company, be sure to start your night with some tapas at Heno & Rey and wash it all down with some Sangria. Continue the Spanish theme and head to Ascua for dinner for the signature dry-aged WA beef on the wood-fired grill. Delish!View hotel on trivago
