A rooftop NYE party

1/3

Ring in the New Year in style with a rooftop NYE party at QT Melbourne. You’ll feel like you’re in a Hollywood Rom-Com at this black-tie event, sipping on a glass of Perrier Jouët and indulging on delectable canapés and shucked oysters (to order).

The party scene is only the beginning of what this stylishly, cool Melbourne hotel has to offer. Before your big night out, take a dip in your window-front standalone bath in your QT King Room or better yet, watch an in-room movie, free of charge, for some end-of-year pampering.

New Year's Eve at the Docklands

1/3

While Docklands was once thought of as an area of Melbourne to be avoided, today, nothing could be less true. The area has undergone significant urban renewal, resulting in an injection of harbourside culture.

Four Points by Sheraton is one of the newest hotels in the Docklands district. Rooms have been decorated in whites and blues, giving off a coastal vibe, which is apt considering the harbourside location.

The toughest choice here will be whether you prefer to look at skyscrapers or calm waters as rooms offer have either city or water views. But one thing that is sure for all room is that you’ll have access to free WiFi.

Four Points Docklands offers one of the more affordable New Year’s Eve dining packages at the hotel’s restaurant, Dock 18. Eat here before heading up to the outdoor pool on level seven to get one of the best fireworks views in the area.

Celebrate the New Year in the midst of history

1/4

This boutique hotel sits in a building, formerly home to the Herald’s printing headquarters, and later a billiard centre. In 1999, it opened as a hotel, growing to become one of Melbourne’s most prominent boutique hotels.

Hotel Lindrum’s rooms stay true to the heritage feel of the building. Polished timber floors give way to simple, yet tasteful furnishings, along with mood lighting.

The hotel restaurant, felt, pays tribute to the green felt lining found on top of the hotel’s famous billiards table. The New Year’s Eve package is one of the higher end packages available in Melbourne. As the restaurant seats only 40 people, New Year’s Eve tends to book out early, so get in quick.

Park view for New Year's Eve

1/4

Pullman Melbourne on the Park offers one of the most notable New Year’s Eve dinner packages in Melbourne. In past years the set menu has included eight hour slow-cooked Tasmanian lamb shoulder and scallop ceviche. After dinner, check out the Atrium Bar and Lounge, which as the name suggests, is located next to the hotel’s atrium. The wine list is big, and the cocktails are tasty.

The hotel is a short walk from the Royal Botanical Gardens and Albert Park. Both of these locations provide great fireworks viewing. If you’re after fireworks views from your room, book a Pullman Deluxe Lakeview Room. These rooms have been decorated in charcoals and splashes of red, along with rain showers and contemporary furnishings.

This is just one of the locations around Melbourne where fireworks will be set off from, giving you front row tickets.
