Best Rated Singapore Hotels For Your Next Stay

We’ve uncovered a list of the best rated cheap, and not-so-cheap hotels that are worth considering for your next stay.

Singapore has found its pride and place on many people’s travel bucket list. From Little India, Far East Square and over to Marina Bay, Singapore is a melting pot of culture and luxury that will entice the senses and its hotels are no exception to this. From boutiques to revering classics, there is a Singapore hotel that is fit for your travel needs and offers up an experience that will make your time in their Asian capital memorable.

The Singapore hotel on everyone's bucket list

1/3

This wouldn’t be an article about Singapore if we didn’t mention the Marina Bay Sands. The hotel is a regular on bucket lists, and for good reason. It boasts the world’s largest hotel pool, overlooking the Singapore skyline.

Workout with a view at the hotel’s Banyan Tree Fitness Club, located on the 55th floor. The award-winning Banyan Tree Spa offers signature treatments – our pick is the Royal Banyan. It includes a Royal Banyan herbal pouch massage, a jade face massage and a therapeutic herbal bath.

For the ultimate in luxury, choose the Presidential Suite. Two living rooms, city-skyline panoramic views, a dedicated butler team, three bedrooms and a baby grand piano. Enough said.

Industrial glam within budget

1/3

We realise not everyone (ok, very few people) might have the budget for the Marina Bay Sands. If you’re looking for a dose of Singaporean culture in the Little India district, you’ll do well to step into Wanderlust Hotel.

The boutique hotel was designed with the brief ‘Industrial Glam’, and it shows. Its 29 rooms feature the works of various Singaporean design agencies – Asylum, Phunk Studio and fFurious, with each floor designed by a different agency.

Our pick is level three, designed by DP architects. Rooms are origami-inspired – white hues, sharp-edged ceilings and lighting systems controlled by a click wheel. Each room can be ‘painted’ different colour using the novelty lighting system.

Police station turned Singapore hotel

Hotel Indigo Singapore Katong is one of the newest hotels in Singapore. The hotel is the first foray into Singapore for the Hotel Indigo brand, which has hotels operating in all corners of the globe.

The hotel itself is located in the former Joo Chiat police station, in the heart of the Katong district. Its design was inspired by the local Peranakan culture – each room contains a mural depicting everyday life in the region.  The modern aesthetic of each room fits in surprisingly well with the colonial exterior typical to Singapore.

Downstairs, Baba Chews Bar and Eatery dishes up a fusion of traditional and modern Malaccan cuisine. Go for the Penang Char Kway Teow and stay for the Patong Slings.

Instagram-friendly hotel

Just a few blocks from Fort Canning Park, tucked away in a side street, is Lloyd’s Inn. Upon arrival, you will immediately understand why it’s one of Singapore’s highest rated hotels on trivago.

The design is minimalist –  focus is put on the raw virtues and beauty of the natural environment. Space is somewhat of a sanctuary in the ever-bustling Singapore.

Rooms are individually designed with a monochrome palette and splashes of greenery. Upstairs, the roof terrace is an ideal place to enjoy a slow breakfast before hitting the streets.

The inn offers BAGEE – a service enabling guests to shop anywhere in Singapore without having to carry their purchases with them all day. Purchases are instead conveniently delivered from the store back to your hotel room.

Singapore hotel with all the perks

1/4

They had us at free mini-bar. They kept us at free happy hour.

Complimentary perks are what The Quincy is about, and they do it well. Free Changi airport lounge access, in room mini-bars, happy hour at the hotel bar and light refreshments available all day long. The free soft serve machine in the lobby brings back childhood memories of Pizza Hut, and we’re not complaining.

King-sized beds and huge LCD TVs fill the rooms. Added bonuses include unlimited WiFi and mobile phones to use during your stay. Take some time out between soft serves to enjoy the LED-illuminated infinity pool.

Boutique and Elegant

1/3

If you’re okay with forking out a little extra for a boutique hotel in Singapore, then The Vagabond Club is the best option. Conceptualised by French designer Jacques Garcia, the hotel is home to some rather over-the-top features. The life-sized golden elephant and solid brass rhinoceros in the lobby are at the top of this list.

Step into the downstairs bar and you’d be forgiven for thinking you have walked into a Parisian Salon. The bar and restaurant space is filled with red drapes, and towering gold-leafed Banyan Trees. Guest rooms feature wooden floors and comfy purple furnishings. Opt for a terrace room that looks out onto Syed Alwi Road.

Feel at home with these chic and urban lofts

1/4

Experience Singapore’s version of the Studio M brand. Having opened in 2016, the Studio M hotel encompasses what the brand has come to be known for – chic, urban lofts, with high ceilings that give a sense of the enormity of the city you’re in.

Diverging from the idea that a hotel stay should make you feel ‘at home’, Studio M has created a space that feels different and more special than home. Each room contains a mezzanine sleeping floor, creating an added element of space.

Take advantage of the hotel’s Urban Dining discounts program, which saves you money at various restaurants and cafes near the hotel.
