When in Macau, stay at the Holiday Inn on the Sands Cotai Strip to soak up its buzzing atmosphere. You may think that the world-class shopping, restaurants and casinos are the name of the game here, but think again – through the eyes of your kids, it’s actually all about Shrek, Kung-Fu Panda and Happy Feet!

Cotai Central offers the entire DreamWorks experience for families: sit down to a Shrekfast with all your favourite animated characters, let your kids run amok in the impressive All-Star Parade, and – go on – challenge Puss in Boots to a duel! Older siblings can have a go at the world’s first live-action role-playing park, Planet J, where they can embark on a unique 60-minute quest to save the beautifully imagined Magic Stone Kingdom.

An action-packed stay

The JW Marriott Hotel Macau is a great place for families with kids of all ages. It doesn’t matter whether they’re raging toddlers or sulky teenagers, there’s something to put everyone in a good mood. The 800-square-metre JW Children’s Paradise has slippery dips, handicraft workshops, and classes ranging from cooking, Kpop dance and yoga! Added to that, teens who prefer to spend time solo can even curl up under the Reading Tree or camp out in the video game room for a while.

It’s even a place to tick off some chores. If your child is due for a haircut – and we’re not kidding – this is the best time to do it. With tiny barber chairs fashioned as mini vintage police cars and carousel animals, they’re guaranteed to not budge from their seats!

All this leaves plenty of time for you to relax and enjoy the hotel’s facilities – book a therapeutic massage, order a cocktail at the JW Pool Bar, or simply enjoy the in-room luxuries of the Nespresso coffee machine, JBL sound system and complimentary Wi-Fi.
