Vanuatu accommodation is something special, and there are plenty of resorts to match your budget. Here’s our list of Vanuatu’s best accommodation and resorts.
Vanuatu accommodation: your next best pacific paradise
The Havannah
If you’re tired of slumming it in hotels where you must share the pool with other guests, try The Havannah next time. A private seven-metre infinity pool, outdoor bathroom and sun deck extending out over the ocean are just some of the deluxe villa features. All of these make the resort perfect for a romantic escape on Vanuatu’s main island, Efate, which is just a two-and-a-half hour flight from Australia.
Spend your days snorkelling the ruins of nearby Havannah Harbour, exploring the leftover relics from WWII. Seaplanes, artillery and 1940’s Coca-Cola bottles are just some of the treasures lining the sea floor.
Did we mention the option of having a chef prepare a private BBQ at your room? Because, yep, that’s a thing here.

Breakas Beach Resort
Adults-only resort, Breakas Beach Resort is named after the beach located on its doorstep, which spoils surfing enthusiasts with both left and right breaks.
The tropical garden and beachfront villas are fitted out with traditional pacific designs – thatched roofs, open air bathrooms and locally made furnishings. Dine with your toes literally in the sand at Breakas Beachside Restaurant, which focuses on showcasing seasonal flavours of the South Pacific.
Reef and snorkelling equipment are provided to guests free of charge, with nearby Patonga Cove a must-snorkel location.

Le Lagon Resort
Le Lagon is arguably one of Vanuatu’s finest resorts. The oceanside lodgings are ideal for families, with spacious bungalows and a free kids club.
Rooms are fitted out with solid wood furnishings and open out onto breezy balconies with either garden or lagoon views.
Facilities include tennis courts, a 12-hole golf course and bicycle hire. Make use of the complimentary snorkelling equipment and enjoy the calm, clear waters of the lagoon from a kayak. The resort offers local tours, including coconut harvesting, fire shows and a tribal survival night.

Ratua Private Island
It doesn’t get much more luxe than a private island set among some of the world’s bluest waters. Ratua Private Island is Vanuatu accommodation at its best.
There’re more than just villas on this island – opt for a South African safari tent if you’re after a glamping experience. All look out to the ocean and are decorated with the Golden Age in mind – think cow hides, upholstered lounges and antique furnishings. This is Vanuatu accommodation with a twist.
Ratua island itself is a hub for outdoor adventures. Saddle up a horse from the nearby ranch and explore the island by horseback or snorkel one of the many underground caverns.
And the best part? Your stay helps support the Ratua Foundation – an organisation dedicated to improving the education conditions for children of Vanuatu.

The Terraces
Port Vila’s newest accommodation, The Terraces, is located on the edge of a cliff, overlooking Erakor Lagoon. The 16 light-filled apartments offer some of the best views Port Vila has to offer.
The one and two bedroom apartments come with private pools that look as though they were made for your Instagram feed. Inside, enjoy the enormous beds, Nespresso machines and freestanding stone baths.
Across the road, Mangoes Restaurant serves up cocktails in coconuts alongside seafood platters and curries. The Coco Lime Margarita with homemade coconut cream, tequila and lime goes down a treat.

Mangoes Resort
Set above Port Vila’s Erakor Lagoon, Mangoes Resort offers 29 bungalows that were designed with relaxation in mind. This Vanuatu resort is home to picturesque private villas, with all the amenities of a larger resort.
Our tip? Opt for the Lagoon View Pool Bungalow, which as the name suggests, has its own private pool overlooking the lagoon. The bungalows are perfect for couples after a tranquil escape.
Facilities are shared with neighbouring boutique apartments, The Terraces, and include use of the tennis courts and gym. Those who are keen to get their mouths around some of the local produce should request a Taste Vanuatu pack from reception. The pack is filled with a variety of organic products like Tanna Coffee and Aelan chocolates.

Iririki Island Resort and Spa
Iririki Island Resort and Spa underwent major renovations in the earlier part of 2016, and has since reopened with a fresh face. Jump on the ferry in Port Vila and head over to the private island accommodation, which is home to a spa, restaurant, cafes, bars and casino.
Accommodation options include overwater bungalows, waterfront and family suites, in addition to a tri-level penthouse for larger groups. The rooms are comfortable, filled with tropical style furnishings, timber floors and private verandahs.
Check out the Sunset Pool, Bar and Grill during the day to take advantage of the swim-up bar. Seafood fans should enjoy at least one meal at the resort’s Azure Restaurant, which cooks up some of the best local seafood in the region.
